Annual fundraiser and cultural show in the DC area Sept. 18 [| The Lao Heritage Foundation is proud to present the
reproduction of Tiao Nithakhong Somsanith's paintings.
Through the sale of these prints, we hope to raise the funds
necessary to publish a book on the temples of Luang Prabang, a world heritage site.
These measures would raise awareness about the urgent need to preserve
these precious structures, which are important religiously and
culturally.
Tiao Nithakhong Somsanith reserves all rights to the reproduction of these paintings. Any reproduction without the express written consent of Tiao Nithakhong Somsanith is prohibited. In addition, we are proud to present a documentary directed by Catherine
Choron-Baix, anthropologist at CNRS, Laboratoire d’Anthropologie
Urbaine, Paris. In the film, Tiao Somsanith takes a spiritual journey to
his beloved Luang Prabang to reconnect with his childhood memories
and begin an effort to preserve the quickly-dying art of gold-thread embroidery.
